Details
The PADI Tec Basics course is a bridge from recreational to technical diving, providing divers with an opportunity to gain exposure to tec diving and learn, and practice, entry level tec diving skills. It introduces recreational divers to tec diving without them initially having to make the larger commitment (in terms of equipment, time and cost) necessary for the core PADI Tec courses.
PADI Tec Basics stays within recreational limits, splitting the skills of Tec 40 Dive 1 into two dives. The course provides an opportunity for divers to learn and practice fundamental tec skills before enrolling in the PADI Tec 40 programme. The course also presents a recognition level for students who choose not to continue their technical dive training.
Qualification
Tec Basics introduces you to the equipment and skills used in technical diving. Since Tec Basics is actually a subset of the PADI Tec 40 course, Tec Basics can be credited towards the requirements of Tec 40.
Prerequisites

PADI Advanced Open Water (or equivalent). PADI Rescue Diver is recommended.

Course Details
Tec Basics is run over 3 days. Before the course, there's some pre-reading and knowledge reviews to complete, before we begin with Practical Exercise One where we learn about standard technical gear assembly and rigging. We'll then learn all the technical dive skills, first in the pool, then in the sea, before completing two simulated decompression dives, and putting all those skills into practice in the Open Water.
